Musings and discoveries of the week

This week I discovered:

I used to have a pebble, and I loved it. I haven’t found much that I’ve liked as much (I have a Fitbit charge now) but there is a Kickstarter project for a JavaScript watch that looks like it might be fun:

I’ve had fun creating PDFs with React, in the same vein, I’ve discovered there is a library to create PPT and Keynote presentations in Javascript — might it be another way to automate reports?

I’m looking at using Github actions more, with a library to run JS commands in Github actions, and another to run (and test) Github actions locally.

I’m also looking at how to run a Next JS frontend with a WordPress backend, and one option is using an RSS Reader in Next JS

This week I’m looking at :

Framer Motion: to animate stuff in our customer area (in React) and partner websites that are build using Next JS.

AWS Amplify Next JS integration: The goal is to have easy out-of-the-box integration with AWS, I tend to roll my own using serverless components, but who knows, there might be something worthwhile in Amplify?

This week I’m working on:

Connecting to Logsta’s API with PHP. Logsta provides “Logistics as a service” here in Europe, but they don’t yet have an SDK so I’m rolling my own.

Let me know if any of these are of interest for a deeper dive!
